I'm going on vacation and I can't take my dog with me what/who would be a...

Well I have the same problem when it comes to traveling. I have two dogs and a hamster.
First you must analyze your dog, does she do well with people and other dogs?

If you can't find someone to take her in, well your next stop should be a doggy day care or a pet resort. Sound pricey and it might but if you do a little research you can find one at a reasonable price.
I personally went with Petsmart's pet resort and only because of my cousins discount.
Make sure you look up "PET RESORT" or "DOG DAY CARE" and when get the results compare and look through the requirements that the dog needs to uphold to be able to stay. There are curtain shots required and most likely need to be neutered (unless you don't mind she does not play with the other dogs). And don't be afraid to call and ask questions (you are leaving you pet there to be taken care of). Ask where will she be staying and in what condition are the rooms, how do potty time go, if she will be communicating with other dogs, if she will be kept clean, the security of the facility, and the hours of convenience to pick up or drop off, and if you can call anytime to make sure everything if all right.

When you figure where your dog will be staying, you need to pack her things.
Things to pack:
crate or cage (unless you know she or the place can do without)
food (dry and/or canned, enough for the trip)
dishes (for water, and both dry and canned food (if both))
leash
a toy or two
a couple snacks (her favorite)
a blanket/throw or pillow with your scent on it (so she does not miss you to much)

NOTE: Some of the things listed are not going to needed if you choose a day care.

I hope this helps! Have fun on your vacation may God keep you safe!

A good reputable boarding kennel I have family and friends in the area. I still board my dogs as I would never forgive them if something were to happen to my dogs while in their care.

Do an online search for "pet boarding" with your own postal code.
Then read their website, visit, and ask for references.
Prices will vary widely, so you can also check for the best prices..

In one kennel here, I can board my 5 dogs for $115 per day. In another, with references just as good, it costs only $60 per day!

I have started hiring a house sitter to stay overnight with my old girl - the cost is not that much more than a kennel and your dog stays comfortable in its own surroundings. I hire a young woman from my church for $40 a day. I do leave instructions and I never let anyone but me take my dogs out on a leash, etc. They don't want to have to deal with me if something happens to my dog. LOL. Petsmart supposedly has a cool little dog motel - I know a young person who has worked in one for a few years and I would let her watch my dog, so I'd think she does a good job for them. She stays overnight with them. Good luck.
