im just wondering, do verizon phones with full html browsers (dare and voyager)

require a data plan? i heard that almost smartphones like the dare and voyager require data plans (after Verizon made the $30 a month plan for all smartphones). Also, i heard that in 2009, phones with mobile web 2.0 will also require a plan. is this true. if it is, when is that date in 2009?

Not all smart phones require the data plan. I can only comment on the Samsung Instinct (Sprint) and the iPhone (AT&T). Both these phones do require a data plan because they both continually throughout the day, connect themselves to the internet and perform updates on themselves, by themselves. It's weird because I used my unlock and jailbroken iPhone with my AT&T service but without the data plan and by months end, my bill (due to data usage) was over $350! Now, I put my T-Mobile pre-pay card in it and no charges?!
