for buying a used phone? I am looking to buy a blackberry through T-mobile off of craigslist. I have heard that if some used phones are stolen, then there will be a block on the service and therefore the new owner won't be able to use it. I would like to avoid this. But how can I know if the phone is stolen or not? Is there certain info I can request from the owner, to then go and call T-mobile to verify? Someone told me that only Sprint and Verizon phones have ESN's, while T-mobile and AT&T don't have that and so if the phone is in fact stolen, it won't matter. Is this true? Is it true that all I need to do is buy a sim card, put it in, and I'll have service?
