I want to buy a sports bike this summer but I'm a noob when it comes to bikes. I'm a pretty small guy, 5'8" 125lbs. I was thinkin GSXR 600 or R6 but I'm not so sure how I would handle on those, I need something light so I can actually drive it. If you could give me some experienced suggestions that would really help. Thanks!

Well man the reviews you will find will be useless. I bout a gsxr 750 3 weeks ago as a first bike. But i did start out on a dirt bike to learn how to use a clutch and two wheels. My suggestions is before you a get a bike. learn how to use a clutch on a four wheeler or dirtbike. For you 125 lb body a 600 should be more than enough weight wise for a first bike. Cause i can barely get my 750 up when i set it down. Just go to a dealership and sit on random bikes that you seem interested in. Just MAKE SURE U CAN WORK A CLUTCH before hopping on a sport bike.

Is this gonna be your first bike? If it is your first, you might want to consider something other than a Zip-splat machine. It takes a sure headed rider to safely handle those kind of bikes...Hey, I'm just sayin'! It could end up scaring the livin' c*** out of you, and turn you off to bikes altogether...

A good rule of thumb is "The old standard". Make your first bike a decent used one. Running but not beat up, an old Universal Japanese Machine (UJM) 350-500cc bike that will be more than adequate for learning and getting better, (and maybe dropping a few times while you learn. ) Take some MSR courses, learn how to ride and whether you even want to ride...Get a repair manual and learn to do at least the basic maintenance on your own machine. You'll understand the ride better if you know what makes it work.

If you start out with low-ball cost and involvement you won't be disappointed if you want to bail. And you'll be that much more prepared to step up to your dream machine.

Ride safe!
