What problems should i look out for when looking for a good one i.e rust in certain places, engine problems etc?
Any help from Alfa owners would be great thanks.
I know buying an Alfa shows a slight sign of madness but i'm still sorely tempted by the V6 GTV CUP
I own a 146 2.0 twin spark - I know a couple of GTV owners who love the cars. For Alfas of this age (like a lot of other makes actually!) you do have to be a bit of an enthusiast & either have a bit of mechanical knowledge or know a good/trusted mechanic. Research the car a bit.
Make sure there are no noises coming from the rear suspension. Make sure the Cambelt/tensioner have been changed at 36000miles/3year intervals - waterpump too, to be sure. Also if it's the 2.0 twin spark (or are you going for the V6? ;>), see if the Cam variator has been replaced too.
Check the usual things first & if you're not sure, then take someone along with some knowledge.
Check out the Alfa owners - http://www.aroc-uk.com/index.htm - Join up & see if a GTV owner local to you could go along & check car.

Had to revisit! - Nice one, GTV cup ;> If you enjoy driving & like a car that makes you feel good, Alfa's are a great choice!
don't bother mate they are rubbish trust me find another make as they are crxxx and you would have to have another car as well to drive as your alfa would Always be in the garage and i would advise you to take out a mortgage on your repaire bills if you buy 1 good luck anyway wat ever you decide
