I'm told that the decision to attack Gaza was made by a Cabinet vote. Is this true?

Not a Knesset vote? I'm trying to ascertain who made (and how) the decision of Israel to attack Gaza recently. Was it a Cabinet vote? If not, what? And who (job title)? Was it anything to do with the Knesset?
Thanks!
Rebel--obviously "Cabinet" is not a good answer, or I wouldn't be asking it AGAIN, WOULD I!!

I refer my learned friend to the answers received for this question:

the decison was not made lightly

israel was under attack from gaza for the past 8 years and still is

i thought you had asked a similar question earlier and canute gave you a good answer

i would expect the cabinet took it after repeated harrassment from hamas rockets

if it is a cabinet decision it would be the members of the cabinet

of course, the decision to fire rockets at israel was hamas and iran and syria....no rockets would have meant no retaliation

the hamas leaders can't be brought to account though.....they scooted off to hide until the fighting was over
