Imitate me as I imitate Christ? Pretty bold statement from Paul, don't you think?

Nothing against Paul. But I think what he said was something he shouldn't of. I mean, imitate me as I imitate Christ? I could never say that. Its like hes saying, " I'm God the Son, I'm better than you and Jesus is God the Father." What do you think?

People will be people you know ??? everyone has opinion and freedom to say whatever you want. At least in my country here far and far away from USA.

You don't understand the context...maybe you pray and ask the spirit for guidance before you read Gods word.

God loves you.....

Well, he didn't do a very good job. After all, no where in the Gospels is Jesus reported as saying anything anti-gay, or commanding women to remain silent in churches. Paul, I guess, wasn't a very good imitator. I wish more Christians would forget about the Pauline Epistles, and focus on imitating Christ directly without an intermediate.\

Heck, I'd be happy if they'd try to stay true to just Matthew 7:12

I think he is providing the basis of what WE should do. he used the word "IMITATE" means, "to follow or endeavor to follow as a model or example".........thus he was not saying he IS GOD...he was saying he was TRYING TO BE LIKE GOD...to follow the words which were preached by JESUS, and to try and be as sinless as possible. he simply wanted to be a MODEL to others, to tell them that we as christians are to TRY and be like Jesus, to be sinless (this is impossible BUT if we try to, we will still avoid some sins we would not otherwise avoid)........my wording is kinda wierd sorry, im just a bit tired. anyawy i hope this helps. and GOOD question, i actually never caught that one for some reason. lol
