...contacted by your future employers? I worked for a major corporation in California and when I was fired for something I did not do, the manager told me that I was not to contact him or my department manager and if I had any questions I was only allowed to speak with human resources. He also said when I apply for jobs in the future that he or my manager would not speak with any of my future employers, they would have to speak with human resources. The thing is that their human resources person is hard to get a hold of because she is always traveling to different stores all of the time. I tried contacting her after I was fired and it took almost two weeks to talk to her and she was extremely rude to me. I just want to know if this is legal because on job applications they usually ask for the manager or supervisor's name and if it is ok to contact them.
