In "No Country For Old men", why does Lew go back to the crime scene

after he's taken the money? It didn't make sense to me why he would take the money, go home for what seemed to be several hours then go back to where he found it...

He wanted to look at the cop chasing him.

he wanted to give water to that mexican man that got shot, but also i think he just did that as an excuse to get all of that heroine that he left behind. so it's both reasons.
