In spiritual terms, what is a "figure"; can spiritual speak and Proverbs be riddles?

Proverbs 1:6
To understand a proverb and a figure,
The words of the wise and their riddles.
 
Yes. They are the same.....

Messiah spake unto the people in Parables: Riddles, Spiritual speaking, Tongues, Dark sayings, all the same thing.
 
'Spirituals' are all in our heads. Our wonderful brain can conjure up anything, and does conjure up some really weird stuff, like pink elephants and god (of all types) and ghosts. It's up to you to keep a grip on reality, and that is not always easy, particularly when we are never sure what reality really is. The Bible is a source of great stories, but in reality is not much different from the Harry Potter books.
