Aphrodite was the goddess of love ; She was married to Hephaestus , But in the story they said she rathered be married to Ares , Hephaestus brother. Does anyone know why ?

Aphrodite preferred Ares over Hephaestus. There's no question about that. Ares, however, isn't the best lover the Goddess of Love can have, and even in Olympus, the God of War is avoided by everyone, including Zeus. Aphrodite tried to help Ares but grew bored with him, seeing him as a lost cause.

Because she was so beautiful, Zeus feared that the other gods might wage a war over her and so he married her to Hephaestus, so that there would no longer be any objections. Aphrodite was not pleased with her marriage so she was not faithful to Hephaestus.

Have you ever heard the saying All is fair in love and war? this to point out how similar the two actually are.
