In your opinion, why does the middle class right and low income right vote

against their own interests? The right represents big business, lower taxes for the rich who control those big businesses. They are the ones who export the job overseas, increase the cost of living and while lowering the living standards of low and middle income families. The rich are opposed to taxpayer bailouts or handouts unless it is they who are the recipients of those tax dollars.
The left support the middle and lower income earners. They want health care, equality, education, at least a living wage or more for everyone. They develop policies based on facts, not ideologies. The left believe a nation is for all the people and not just for the few with the biggest bank accounts.
So, why does the middle class right and low income right vote against their own interests by voting for the right?
Is it a lack of education? The corporate controlled media leading to a misguided or misinformed voter? Voter apathy or a population that is indifferent to events that affect their lives? What?

In America, historically, they flip flop, they're put a Conservative in office with a Democratic Senate & visa versa, the reason behind this is because neither party supports them & they are forced to vote against their better judgment & thus try to slow things down as much as possible,.
