In your own words, why did Jesus Christ come down out of His throne to save us?

We are nothing without him. Without Jesus Christ there is no life.

The universe, including this planet, was created for one purpose: to provide a suitable habitation for the human race. The human race was created in the image and likeness of God for one purpose: to provide an eternal companion for the SON.

The Messiah came for one intent and only one: to give birth to His Church, thus to obtain His Bride.

The entire universe in its totality is cooperating with God in His purpose to select and train His Church as His Eternal Companion. The entire universe is ordered for this purpose, for all this belongs to the Church and are for her benefit (1Cor. 3:21-23)

God is controlling all of its events, not only on earth in all realms, to serve His purpose of bringing to maturity and eventually to enthronement with His Son, not angels, not archangels, but the Church, His chosen Bride. Romans 8:38

You were created in love to respond to the love your Father in Heaven proved He has for you. It is the nature of love to seek a freely given response. Love demands justice however and He is perfectly holy, pure & just; therefore, He must punish all sin, otherwise He would be unjust. In an astonishing act of grace He provided the way for your offences against Him to be removed, when you confess your sins to Him and ask His forgiveness; He will! Then turn from them proving your repentance is real. Trust Jesus took the punishment your sins deserved, on His cross (aka “believing in Jesus”). I have done this; so can you.

Read how the Bible says to be right with God, Matthew 4:17; Luke 24:46-47; Romans 2:4-5; Romans 3:23-24; James 2:10; Hebrews 9:27; 1 John 1:8-9; Romans 5:8; Romans 10:9-10; Romans 10:13; Ephesians 2:8-9; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Peter 3:18; John 3:36; 1 John 5:11-13; www.GodsLoveProven.com [email protected]

Lets say a group of kids crash the family car, the Father is upset about this and needs to spank the kids...but the mother steps in...

-Protestants would say the mother would have to receive the equivalent beating that the children deserved and thus the Father would be satisfied. [substitution]

-Catholics on the other hand reject that notion because the Father could never act in such a way towards His wife. Rather, the wife stepped in and spent all day in a hot-sweaty kitchen to prepare the Father a nice multi-course home cooked meal. The Father was so pleased at this act that He in turn decided not to discipline the children, only requiring a simple apology.

The penal substitution view above is the historical/classical Protestant understanding still held today by most Reformed (Calvinist) and Lutherans though more and more protestants of other backgrounds are rejecting this idea of penal substitution and siding with the Catholic understanding.
