I have been trying for days to find something about this song from the 90s, about an abused women who escapes her situation but all I can remember is the words "it's independence day on lincoln avenue." I have been told it may be from Australia. Any help from down under ?
Hey pepe it's not the Martina McBride song but thanks. Pepe, hmm now I'm not from Australia but are you sure that's an Australian name ?

Larry Crane is the singer. The song is Independence Day. It was popular in the midwest in 1994. Search Amazon for Larry Crane, Independence Day and you can hear samples. I believe the single that I heard on the radio back then had more of an accoustic lead and was a little different from the album version.
