INDIA: Is it true that if Western women go there, they get groped in...

...crowded marketplace? Okay, so I've been hearing from friends who went to visit India that while getting stuck in crowded marketplace, they got groped by Indian men. Not only that, but when they went to the hotel bar and asked for alcoholic beverages, they were given very rude looks. My friends say that all the male hotel employee's were very lecherous! How true is this?
@Travel Oracle, I don't know what to say to you, you seemed to glamorize a very stressful situation when it should be condemned. After posting this question, I had an email chat with the friend who went to India and she said that its not only the Western women who get groped, but Indian women too. Getting groped in crowded marketplace, is an extremely stressful situation and she compared it to "rape". She further says that to combat groping, the government had introduced women only train.

Contrary to what you said, Indian women do NOT like being groped, and I think that the mentality of the entire Indian male population should change.

It's a cultural thing because most traditional Indian women stay either with other women or a male relative while in public, and the men know foreign women are alone so they think they can cop a feel.

You must have very untrustworthy friends because they told you based on first person experience yet you choose to question the truth of their claims.

Ya very true... They might also be molested or raped under some cases...But that's what its like being from the ''LAND OF THE KAMASUTRA''... a bit of ''Sex" is there in everything... Infact French is Hyped as the ''Love Language of the World'' I'd say it shud be Indian..Why this is not much realized as many people dont speak Hindi (The indian language).. if you know Hindi, you'll realize on Indian streets how many different words are there for the ''MALE ORGAN'' & ''FEMALE ORGAN(S)'' .. there are such types of ''sex'' in Indian Literature that even the best adult entertainment companies of the 21st century will wonder -- Is that really possible ...
Indian women are used to it..its somewhat like Spanish , Italians & Greecians are used to nudity on beach and public places...Indians like to add a bit of a personal touch to it..They ''Grope''...

The Indian people talking or reacting to your friend are not rude , they are just saying --Eres Bonita in their own language..If a Spainiard says so none will mind...Dont mind if an Indian says so..
