Individuals with above average intelligence don't gossip.?

Individuals with high IQ's don't usually participate in gossip. Would you find this assesment true? Why or why not?
 
I actually have no idea, but I guess people with Above average intelligence tend to motivate themselvs and do things rather then hang out with people and talk loads of stuff about other people. They do tend to be introverted though.
 
i believe its definitely true. people who gossip are people who find gossip topics to be interesting and dont see a problem with making them a big deal. but people with higher IQs arent as interested in gossip because they know that there are faaar more interesting things they could be talking and thinking about.
 
i wouldn't say its true. whether or not a person gossips can't be solely based on their IQ. remember...correlation doesn't equal causation! I know plenty of smart people (one girl in general) who gossip all the time AND i know plenty of not-so-smart people who don't gossip.
 
In my opinion its absolutely true. Gossip is completely superfluous, usually 99% bs, rumors. It has no benefit to intelligence, although perhaps gossip in a science facility could. But if you're talking about small talk, high school/ college chit chat then it is pointless.
