if you can divide a distance by half, then that half by half then that half by half, you can theoretically do this an infinite amount of times. isn;t it strange that infinity is enclosed in a finite space?

Check internet on "the Meaning of INFINITY"
Mathematecally 1/0= Infinity
Physically it deepens\soul/reincanation( where there are no facts only beliefs)
where are you heading anyway?

As Antons says, one has to differentiate between the abstract mathematical definition of infinity and physics.

Can you say that the number zero has a physical existence?

Your reasoning was already the point Planck made about light being a wave carrying energy. There is an infinite number of wave lengths and therefore, the electro-magnetic energy of say, a star, would empty itself instantly if light was a wave. Hence the idea of the quantum physic: Light is small cells of energy with higher energy at higher frequency. Today, we reckon that light can be considered both as a wave and as photons of given amount of energy.

You are not stating anything more profound than "a finite space contains an arbitrary number of entities of zero size".

isnt it strange that our universe is an infinite something expanding infinitly into nothing? if you believe in that sort of stuff.
