Does anybody have a rough estimate what kind of interest rate I should expect on a new credit card if my credit score is 660, my income is 1,500 per month, and I live in Texas? .... What if I could raise my credit score to 700 before applying?
I will spare you most of the details. But I am trying to decide between paying off my store credit card debts ASAP or putting a few $$ back in savings for a large bill that I know is coming next year.
The main thing I want to know is if it would be very likely for someone with a 660 credit score to get a credit card with an interest rate below 20% and a limit over $1000. ... I am currently paying 22% - 27% interest on my store cards, which I think is insane. But I cannot ask any of my friends because I do not know anybody with a financial situation similar to mine. I will not be able to pay off the store cards and put that money toward the bill because the cards can only be used at specific stores.
