I'm a sophomore in high school and I need an interesting topic for my Biology Honors Paper. We have a really wide topic--- interesting, and in the field of biology. One of the examples she gave us was "Effects of Laughter on the Body" and I really like that idea! I don't want to copy that... but something like that would be cool. I'm not a super-sciency person, but I am fascinated by the mind and body working together (more psychology...) are there any topics that I could combine Biology and Psychology with?

I would say something about synapses between neurons, but it seems like the example your teacher gave you is much less complicated.

The "fight or flight" response of the body would be a good topic. When you get scared, your heart rate rises, adrenaline kicks in, you may loose the contents of your bowels & bladder, etc. Your body is preparing to take itself out of the situation by getting rid of extra baggage to run quicker, etc.

What about the effectiveness of different placebos? There has been plenty done on this before but there are so many variation possible.
