Hello,

I have an oral presentation to do in economics (10-15 mins) and I'm searching for a good topic that wouldn't bore people to death. I don't want to do a presentation about the crisis, theories, Adam Smith because everyone is doing it! I want something different and interesting. Any ideas?

You could try something along the lines of 'freakonomics'
"Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything" 2005 non-fiction book by economist Steven Levitt and journalist Stephen J. Dubner
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freakonomics
They've recently released another book "SuperFreakonomics" [haven't read this one yet].
Think of patterns that could follow or be conducive to economic analysis.

You could Apply some rules & Laws of economics to your daily life in school/college - something that relates to everyday living & will interest & involve your audience. Maybe you could do a survey, if you have the time, & do some statistical analyses on their personal financial patterns.

Add a couple of humorous quotes on economists, their predictions, etc. to capture attention. Plenty of them around.
Try to involve & interact with your audience for some time.

Hope this helps you get started :-)
