How fast must a plane fly along the earth’s equator so that the sun stands still relative to the passengers? Give your answer in km/hr. The earth’s radius is 6400 km.

Well, the Earth rotates from West to East such that it completes one rotation in 24 hours. The circumference of the Earth is 2?r, where r is its radius. Thus, a plane has to fly from East to West fast enough to travel (2?)6400 km in 24 hours.

The rest should be easy.
