Interesting topic/thing to learn about?

I have to do a final project in school (i'm a senior in high school) that involves an independent study in which we have to learn something new. it can be practically anything as long as it's relatively educational and you learn something at the end of the project and you're able to present it.
i wanted to do a cookbook, but someone is already doing that, and i'm not sure if i can do it as well.
any good ideas?

I think this would be a good topic to explore and learn more about. It is becoming more and more popular AND NEEDED in every community. I'm sure there are many schools, churches, food banks, etc.in your community that have a program like this. Maybe not only learn about it but start a fundraiser or BackPack Food raiser. Set a goal to obtain through churches and other organizations ONE THOUSAND items of food for the BackPack Program. Good Luck!
