International channels/Sattelite + cable?

My grandma and uncle live in a different state, but they have this cool satellite that gives them channels from the Middle East and Asia. They only had to pay once and there are no fees after that. I'd really like to get international channels, like Asian channels and maybe Italian channels. I think my mom might know where to get the satellite but can you get that and watch your regular cable/dish U.S channels? Does anyone have any other information on a satellite dish like that or a cable company that offers many international channels? I know comcast does, but they're kind of expensive, wow seems like the best cable/ internet deal and they don't have any. I want to get the international channels LEGALLY.
