I start up the computer, let it finish loading the basics up, and then begin to start internet explorer. it will freeze up (not 100% of the time, but about 45-65% of the time) and it prevents anything else from happening on the computer too (mouse moves, "start" doesnt respond, windows task manager doesnt respond... etc.) Then maybe 5 minutes later verything works again. On the little sidebar thing for vista, I made it show me the CPU usage and the CPU Ram.... the usage bounced around depending what I did, never really going below 40%, but the ram stayed at like a constant 67 % (I wasn't opening large programs, in which case it would jump up a little and then come back down). I can give a list of the programs running in the background, or the start up proam list, but i'm not sure what to turn off or keep on (windows fear is a wonderful thing lol) but I do defrag and disk clean up often. Thanks for all help

A little advice get mozilla firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/)
Mozilla Firefox protects from malaware, spy ware, and viruses alot better than internet explorer.
plus its 10 times faster
