Internet Explorer: How do I get pages to open in new tabs?

When I Google something and I click on one of the links that come up, how can I make it so that that link opens in a new tab instead of in the same window?
 
tools > internet options > general tab > settings under tabs > under links from other programs check the box, a new tab in current window > ok > apply > ok




?
