Internet Explorer stops my downloads at random times! Help!?

I reinstalled Win XP after formatting my computer,
which means I can only use Iexplorer (version 6.0.2900.2180) that was installed along with the OS.
The prob is that it'll stop downloading (Fake Complete) stuff at random times (between 1Mb-2Mb)


and ye Mozilla Firefox's installer is larger than 7Mb, so IExplorer will say "Download Complete" before even reaching 30%

What is the name of your ISP, modem and wireless router (if you have one)?

i would suggest clicking on Start>All Programs and then scrolling to Windows Update and doing that first before anything. because you need IE 8 really.
