Internet keeps saying "a cable is unplugged" but the cable isn't unplugged?

I have tried EVERYTHING!!
i have reset it with comcast, unplugged and plugged it back in, restarted, its really causing problems. i replaced the cables and after i do these things it works for like an hour than starts happening again. it was not like this before. i have a d-link router if that helps
 
I had the same problem. the problem was with the connector on the cable modem. When i would bend or twist it a certian way it would always connect.

Try this, try taking out the router and connecting the computer to the modem directly. if it works with now problems then you know that you have a bad connection with the router. IF you have problems still take a look at the lights on the front of the modem and put some pressure on the RJ-45 jack till one of them lights up. if that happens you will need a new cable modem.
