This problem has been haunting me all day, bare in mind I'm quite new to the iphone franchise and I'm still learning. I have an iphone 3 Jailbroken with snowbreeze, running a custom iOS 4.2.1.
Through many attempts, and experimentation I came to terms with the fact that installous 5 did not work on my iphone, every app I downloaded and installed came back with an ipa error. After which I searched google and found a .deb file of installous 4.2.
I Successfully installed version 4.2 and tried to download whatsapp, the download and installation was a success but the icon did not appear on my homescreen (this drove me mad for hours) I tried many different things and eventually uninstalled installous 4.2, however when I tried to reinstall with iFile, it either told me that /usr/bin/dpkg: Permission Denied OR it told me /var/lib/dpkg folder is locked by another (or something like that)
I have tried rebooting, restoring, and countless re installations with installous and nothing works! Could anyone clue me up on exactly what the problem might be? and how I would go about fixing it or finding a solution? I would be much appreciative! thank you
