Iphone 4 videos not uploading correctly?

I've got an iPhone4s and i've taken quite a few videos with it, the videos play fine and normal with both picture AND sound on my iphone, but when I try to upload the videos to my computer to save them, the picture goes black, but the sound stays. Has anyone else had this problem and do you know how to upload the videos to your computer and have the sound AND picture?? My pictures convert fine, but the videos always go black with no picture but keep the sound. It's getting annoying becaue i'm trying to upload the videos to my computer so I can erase them from my phone (selling the phone) and the picture, the most important part, doesn't even show up!!

Connect the iPhone to the computer, and go to the picture folder on the phone. And just drag and drop them to your pc. Only use iTunes to back your apps, music up before selling the phone.
