iphone question which apps use my 2g of internet usage?

i was wondering if all apps used my 2g of internet usage or if only some do.i know my apps like facebook and google earth use it because when i open them the 3g icon at the took has the spinning thing beside it but when i open games and my iheartradio app it has that spinning thing just for a second than it goes away so i was wondering if i can listen to the iheartradio app and it not use my 2g usage
