You would have to backup your iPhone before restoring. If you have iOS 5 or later they might be on iCloud and if you set up PhotoStream your pictures could be on your Mac or PC. In iTunes plug in your iPhone and right click on your iPhone. Click on restore from back up and see what your most recent backup was. If it was around the time you restored then you can restore yo that backup.
I highly reccomend that you update from Software update in settings so you don't have to restore.
