iPod Safari Problem.....?

I have had my iPod Touch for about 4 months now and it has been great, no problems except one small problem with Safari.

I have connected to my router, given the correct password and have a perfect signal but when i click on Safari, a message comes up saying: "Cannot Open Page, Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet." I have a Netgear Wireless-G Modem Router.
Also when i go to the iTunes or App Store a message says "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" I guess the problems are linked.
I think the problem is i'm connected to the router but not connected to the internet could somebody please help?
