Is 1000W generating set able to power a house hold?

I want to buy a power generating set that is able to supply 1000W or (1KW) output. I want to know, if this output is able to power my family house with approximately the following appliances:
1. One refrigirator
2. One computer
3. TV and DVD player
4. Two ceiling fans
5. then about 6 lights (Fluorescent bulb 20 to 40watts)
