is a 1980 fiat spider considerd a classic type of car?

my aunt who died had one and me and my parents have had it for awhile and im fixing it up as a first car but, is it a classic car or a crappy junky older kind of car

will people turn their heads to see my car drive by and complement me on it a call it a classic like they do with other cars.

I think its classy.. make sure to get a nice paintjob though, cuz that makes or breaks cars like this for me... just pick one color.. dont go all pimp my ride on it..
