Actually it depends on your PC more than anything. Just having the drive doesn't make a difference if you don't have good graphics card, and a good graphics card needs a good processor. I've owned both though, and I can say you should be fine with a blu-ray drive in your PC. Most likely if you can afford one of those, then you have already bought a nice desktop pc, I'm using a 27" hdtv for my monitor and it looks beautiful. But hey go out and buy a PS3 and stimulate the economy as well as your wallet and thumbs. The ps3 has great games and can be used to stream media from your pc including movies and pictures and music, so you may decide to get it anyway.
