Is a Premonition merely a coincidence?

Several times a month, I am met with a peculiar experience. I will encounter while dreaming someone I then go on to meet the following day (and it is always the following day never later) This baffling phenomena would not occasion a mention, were it not for the fact that those persons I meet in advance during my sleeping life have for the most part, been lost to me by many years of absence. The last episode saw me reunited with an chum I had not seen in over thirty long years.
What on earth could lie behind these strange precognitions?
 
Perhaps coincidence or perhaps you are tuned in, sensitive. I've had several different types of premonitions come true. I am especially tuned to people I care about getting hurt. Why couldn't I be tuned to winning lottery #'s? LOL!
 
Let me demonstrate with an example.

Last week, a car full of teenage girls flew past me. I thought, "They're going to get pulled over." and moments later, they were pulled over!

Well, the fact of the matter is, cars blow past me all the time, and I usually think "They're going to get pulled over" I have this thought hundreds of times a year, and have since I could drive and it's come true about 3 times.

If I had this thought 3000 times, and I was right about 3 times, that gives me a 0.1% success rate on my premonitions. Not very impressive.

The fact of the matter is that we dream about hundreds of events, people, places every night. That's at least 700 possible "hits" a week. Should we be surprised by getting one a month? Not really.
 
Most are but many are educated guesses. Sometimes we're a lot smarter then we think we are.
