I am about to purchase one and was wondering what the largest game you can hunt with one is. And what the longest accurate shot / kill distance for .270 win would be.
I have higher caliber guns but I am getting a good deal on this one ($120)
I also carry my ruger alaskan .454 and don't hunt alone so I don't give a fuck about bears or mountain lions.

OK,...Josh ....I'm on a roll.........so lets say you are out hunting with your .270 and a mad bear attacks....wouldnt you really want a 30.06 right about then?...or bigger?
Soooo.......get a bigger gun ....JUST IN CASE !After all....bears dont know you only want to kill a deer do they?
Think about it !........and dont say : Well, there arent any bears where I hunt........Hell there arent supposed to be cougers on whidbey island and somebody saw one last week !

ya a .270 is fine. i use a beat up old winchester .308. ive seen guys get elk with a 30.30. so its not all about firepower, it has to do with the skill of the shooter as well. for 120 bucks id buy it too. who knows may turn out to be your favorite gun.
