is android operating system 2.2 (froyo) good enough?

is 2.2 good enough, or is it annoyingly primitive?? what are MAJOR differences between 2.2 (froyo),
2.3 (gingerbread) and 2.3 (honeycomb)???
the reason i say this is because i want to get the motorola triumph that for now only supports 2.2 (as far as i know) so if there are any updates for this phone please let me know! by the way is this phone good?? im not deep into the smartphone android world. (in fact i have had a samsung gravity for the past few years) so i dont need an incredible top of the line latest addition smartphone, but i was just wondering if it was worth it....
 
You'll be happy with Android 2.2 Froyo. There aren't major changes between 2.2 Froyo and 2.3 Gingerbread. There are core operating system changes that don't affect your every day usage all that much. With Gingerbread 2.3, there is a noticeable change in battery life on your device, but that's about it.

The more important thing to keep in mind is which phone you're buying. There are Android 2.2 devices that will blow away a device running Android 2.3.

Also, Android 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2 (named Honeycomb) devices are tablets. The 3.0+ software is tablet-specific. You won't find a phone that's running 3.0+
 
Yes 2.2 is good and if your talking about the triumph on virgin mobile than get it, its supposed to be a really good phone with a 1mhz proccesor.
