Obama acts like a child whenever he gets criticized or questioned. I know he has been lauded by the liberal media as the candidate who is “above†the “politics as usual†theme, but “above†doesn’t mean “immune.†He played the indignant role when questioned about his questionable relationships. He bleated like a sheep and said people shouldn’t assume that just because he knows someone doesn’t mean he agrees with their views. He then went on to say that Hillary’s husband had pardoned two members of the Weather Underground during his last days in office. Isn’t that sort of like saying that just because her husband pardoned two guys he didn’t even know that Hillary must have known them or at least agreed with their views. Obama doesn’t seem to think too clearly. Maybe he has drain bamage, or maybe he’s just nervous. I sure would be nervous if I was building a house out of smoke and mirrors and felt people were getting wise to me.
When Hillary’s Bosnia gaffe was being discussed, Obama said, “I have not commented on that matter.†One of the moderators said, “But your campaign commented on it.†His response was, “Of course.†What’s the difference? Is he so arrogant that he thinks people don’t know that his “campaign†isn’t going to make a statement that he doesn’t know about or at least expect? If so, Obama is polishing his credentials as a hands-off guy. If he should be elected President, will he give his Secretary of State permission to make commitments on his behalf without telling him?
I wonder what Obama would say if someone said to him, “President Bush did not waterboard those al Qaeda detainees – his CIA surrogates did.†I don’t think he would say, “Of course.†Maybe he would say, “Bush is responsible for what his surrogates did!†or even, “Bush has cut taxes for the rich so they can spend long weekends at their waterfront mansions and go water boarding whenever they please…uh…er…is ‘waterboarding’ something like boogie-boarding – now, THAT’s fun!
Age and maturity do not always run in sync. Or maybe he played the “Smoke & Snort†game a little too long.
Obama seems to resent the “lapel pin†controversy. Most of us would probably welcome it if we were in his shoes. If that’s the hardest questions his critics can throw at him, he should be home free.
