My mom has Comcast cable and digital phone service (NOT VOIP) she has a separate dial up internet provider (I'm working on her to go high speed, but her dial up is VERY affordable, and she's not ready to switch). In the last few months she has been unable to maintain a connection via dial up, she gets booted off the line after a few minutes. Her dial up provider tells her that Comcast has had problems nationwide with dial up connections being disconnected, but when she talks to Comcast they say they have "no idea" what she's talking about, and then they insist that she should switch to Comcast internet.
