see it discussed)? Do not believe in the short time I have been on R&S this has been discussed.

Eating gross things has been but not over eating...........just wondering.

ISSUE: Is being way over weight a sin against God?
ISSUE: Why never discussed?

Never discussed because it is rude.

God doesn't exist so there can be no sin against God.

Being seriously overweight is a health problem that can be life-shortening, but it is not a sin. It can be a sickness or glandular condition. Morbidly obese people are usually that way because of serious glandular imbalances but some just never had anyone teach them to put the fork down when they were full. Some probably had an idiot parent who used the old line, "Finish your food, there are children starving in Africa." As if (a) my finishing my food had anything to do with African children, and (b) if you were that worried, here! Ship them my leftovers.

NO. NOR ACTUALLY CIGS.
DRUGS WE KNOW TO BE A NO NO.
AND EXCESS BOOZE.

WINE IS NOT A SIN IN MODERATION.

SMOKING IS NOT GOOD FOR ANYONE... AND SHOULD NOT BE DONE.
BUT NOT A MORTAL SIN.
FAT PEOPLE WON'T BE FAT AND SKINNY PEOPLE WON'T BE SKINNY IN HEAVEN.

yeah, people talk about slavery more than they talk about obesity....same with anorexia. I guess they're afraid of making the fat people angry if they told them to stop eating so much and get outside more, and stop watching TV/being on the computer and don't ever ride in a car but walk to where you need to go, or you're stuffing yourself because nobody really loves you.

You never hear people say that at all.

(probably because it's mean though.)

The sin is gluttony, if you sort of "worship" food by obsessing over it, then it becomes like an idol, which we're not supposed to have, obviously :P
Also your body is supposed to be a "temple" and it belongs to God and by being overweight, you are being unhealthy which destroys our body, and in return destroying what God has given to us

& I don't know why it hasn't ever been disgussed, although I'm sure it has sometime

No, it is not sinful. It is unhealthy, but not sinful. That person should try to get back into shape, however, it is not sinful unless that person is trying to become obese to shorten his lifespan on Earth.

I actually do NOT believe it is.... There are people in this world that are *over weight* for many medical reasons that food has nothing to do with... And another point is : What is over weight ? Who makes the call of just what *obese* is and who is obese ? Another point : If Jesus carried all our sins to the Cross, then wouldn't He also have carried this one ?? go in peace... God bless
