It is used to track the progress on torrents you are downloading. for Turning rar files, use Winrar or winace. the trial version works fine.

bit torrent is just the program used to download the .rar files. you will need to download winRAR in order to extract the individual files from a zipped file.

No, BitTorrent is used for downloading torrent files, i.e. files that are downloaded from many people all over the world, not just from one internet server. If you want to decompress a .rar file, get a free program called WinRAR.
