There is authoritarian despots of Banana Republic of China tried to assure people of uncontaminated salt supply and people panicked, resulting in panic buying of salt. Apparently contaminated pork, melamine milk, and fake eggs haven't done any good to the image of the authoritarian regime . . . people simply don't believe the words of the despots who have been ruling China.
