i have been downloading movie torrents form vuze and I am wondering if there is a chance of virus on the hardrive or external harddrive that they are being copied to?
Thanks Macbook Pro OS X Snow Leopard

it depends on the source. there are lots of torrents out there, and a lot of them have viruses.

however, it's hard to hide a virus in a movie file. it's easier if it's in say, an application program.

also, having a mac, you're not very susceptible to viruses. not a lot out there for macs. I'd say you're ok.

Very unlikely. Viruses are included in various .exe files, not movies. Download from piratebay, so you can read user reviews of the torrents before you download 'em. Folks will tell you if they had a problem or found a virus, etc.

You seem to be worry only about computer infections whereas you should also be worrying over whether your ISP is one of those monitoring illegal downloads. The usual procedure is two formal warnings and then you're out (Internet service permanently withdrawn)
