is eMule 0.48a (May 13th, 2007) safe?

I want to download emule,
can i use this programme with vista?, and is it safe to use? i've heard it has a lot of virus / security issues.

follow this link for the version you need for vista http://www.emule.com/ and it will have some files that have virus in them.same as limewire. any time you file share there will be some jurk that thinks they are funny by putting a virus in there files. best way to download is save file to desk top- then right click on the file and scan for virus-then if non found download . good luck.
