My 3 year old son has down syndrom and he is absolutely captivated by the old "leaving on a jet plane" song written by john denver. I think Peter paul and mary made it famous. Anyway, he is smitten with this song and it comforts him and soothes him. In all the surgeries and hospital visits that song is the only one to calm him. He goes to bed every night while we sing it to him. So, in listening to all the contemporary music today is their anything that could have the same effect on a small child? Everything has some sort of beat and fast rythymn. I invite you to prove wrong and give me ideas.
