First off, I'm in university and there's this guy that I've met through a mutual friend last year. We don't really know each other too well but we do talk at times when we bump into each other in the halls or around campus. Usually, I'm the type who would greet others with an expressionless face (without a warm smile but not to the extent of a frown either since I'm usually really stressed out from school) so that's how I've usually greeted him in the past. However, a few weeks ago, I greeted him with a big warm smile and told him I had to head to class and his face seemed to have lit up. One week later, I didn't see him in the halls like how I usually do so I just headed straight to class. Suddenly, he came in to my class and asked if he could sit beside me and we chatted a bit before the lecture began. But he usually has another class at the time I have my lecture so I asked him "don't you have class at this time?" and he stuttered a bit and said "oh, I attended the earlier one today". The class that I had was finance and he also has it as well, just at a different time than me.
Two weeks ago, I bumped into him in the hallway and he sat down beside me and we ended up chatting for around an hour (we were both very enthusiastic). He kept on asking me questions about myself and listened attentively to my responses. He also told me a lot of things about himself and boasted a little about his past work experiences as well while joking about some of the weird things that happened to him while he was at work (weird customers, etc). When I had to leave, he walked me to the door of the building even if he could've just went straight back to the study area (where he was before we bumped into each other) and asked if I'm planning to come to lectures next week (last week).
For the past week as well as yesterday, I've been sitting with my friends during that class and he sat with his friends as well. However, when the lecture ended, we exited the room from separate doors and he looked over to my side a couple of times. When we were out in the halls, we were each talking with our own friends but we kept on glancing at each other while we were conversing with our friends.
So my question is, was he just being a gentleman before or was he interested? Should I show him that I'm interested?
