First of all, I am 18. So the other day a business guy was picking up his worker at our house who had been cleaning our carpets. Anyway, I told my stepdad that I was attracted to the guy so he got his number for me and introduced us. Later that night without my consent my stepdad initiated contact with the guy on his phone, which made me mad. He asked the guy to come over at a late hour which I didn't understand at first and he would monitor the conversations when the guy would call but when I finally got a chance to be alone on the phone I explained to the guy that my stepdad was the one who had been texting him, in a non-weird way but was just trying to hook me up and I told him to please not be creeped out. He understood and we talked a bit and turns out he is 28. He said it bothered him a bit that I was still in high school but I assured him I would be graduating soon. He said he wasn't interested in a girlfriend because of work but he was willing to date. He even said he was "desperate" so for me to not worry about have being too forward which I had feared. I sent him my own number from my phone and he texted me back and said he was glad to meet me. Then the next night he asked why I wasn't doing anything when I told him I was just bored at home and I told him that it was because I didn't have many friends and I was sort of grounded anyway. He asked for a photo and so I sent a picture and he said I was pretty. And I asked for one back but he never sent one, he just said "K." And I haven't heard from him since, which was only last night anyway. He is a busy guy, always working but assured me he was single. He lives an hour away as well. So is he not interested by what I've told him or am I just too young like he said so? It's not every day I meet a nice older guy like that but I'm bummed out about what happened with my stepdad texting him for me and kind of ruining it. What should I do?
