Is imitation crab meat a healthy food to eat?

Wondering how much protein, fat, nutrients are in it. Is it a good thing to eat? Does it offer any of the health benefits of fish?

It is just processed fish pressed into shape, and depending upon where you are in he world will govern the type of fish it is made from.
It is just dyed to give it the colour.
We have it here shaped as cray fish tails.
I like to eat it and would expect it to have much the same protein, fats, nutrients and health benefits you wold get from fish.

We also call it "seafood extender". If you are doing a fish pie or something and are using expensive fillets, you can bulk out the dish by adding some.

Not particularly, and it tastes nothing like real crab - and doesn't look or smell like it either. It's usually pollock or cod with alot of artificial coloring or flavoring added, so it would have tons of sodium in it. Just eat regular fresh fish or crab
