I have a 10 gallon aquarium with a lot of fish in it - 5 mollies, 4 guppies, 1 dwarf gourami, 3 cories. The problem is, I have a snail problem. I had it somewhat under control for a while - I would try to squash the baby snails as I saw them. However, it has now exploded because I was out of town for a week, and now I have lots of adult snail pests all over the tank. I heard that putting in pennies could help kill them off, but will this harm my plants and fish as well???? I was planning on using pre-1982 pennies, which have a higher copper content as compared to modern pennies, which are mostly zinc. Please help!
